Jeffrey 'Axe' Williamson Signs With Mortality eSports

Wednesday, Jul 09 2014  -   Justin Dellario

Mortality eSports is thrilled to announce its sponsorship of Jeffrey 'Axe' Williamson! Axe joins Mortality eSports Super Smash Bros.(SSB) division and our current SSB player Daniel 'ChuDat' Rodriguez. Axe is very excited to represent Mortality, Team Razer, and our other great sponsors in the upcoming EVO Championship Series 2014, and many more events.

Axe is a 23 year old smasher hailing from the state of Arizona.  His primary SSB character is Pikachu and he is also known for a high level of play with Falco, Young Link, and Fox. Axe is well known for his passionate representation of Arizona, often wearing the Arizona state flag like a cape while competing in tournaments. Axe is best known for taking SSB sets off some of the community proclaimed 'Smash Gods' at major events over the years.  In his most recent outing, MLG Anaheim 2014, Axe managed to defeat Colbol, Hax. Remen, s0ft, and Mew2King in group play. In the championship bracket, Axe defeated Hungrybox but ultimately lost a close rematch with Mew2King in loser's quarterfinals. Axe's fifth place finish overall opened the community's eyes to the variability of Pikachu at such a high level. For more insight in to Axe's highly technical and unique play style, check out this combo video created by 'V3ctorMan.'

When asked how joining Mortality eSports will effect his play, Axe had this to say:

"Joining Mortality eSports will surely improve my motivation to do well.  More importantly, gaining the ability to consistently travel to and compete in major events will be amazing, and I can not wait for what is in store.  Playing on the stage in front of so many at MLG Anaheim gave me such a rush and truly excited me for what is to come.  With the backing of Mortality eSports, I hope to continue making Smash history in the coming months and ultimately make Team Razer proud."
