Mortality eSports prepares for the MLG Championship Anaheim 20-22 June

Wednesday, Jun 18 2014  -   Justin Dellario
Mortality eSports is excited to announce its participation by multiple teams and players in the MLG Championship at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA on June 20-22. After the rigorous grind since UMG Niagara, Mortality eSports COD will be entering the open bracket with hopes of ascending to the championship bracket for a chance to win a large portion of the $150,000 prize pool. Mortality eSports Academy enters the bracket alongside them confident they will earn their stripes in their first major event appearance. The other games showcased in this event include Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Injustice: Gods Among Us, and Killer Instinct.

We had the opportunity to speak with Scott 'RuMCaKes' Ball  from Mortality eSports COD about MLG Anaheim, he had this to say:

" The team will have been staying with me at my house for roughly a week prior to Anaheim. This was really the best possible practice we could have had. We have been learning a lot, and are really expecting to go far in this event. I am most excited to play with our new roster at this event. The team is meshing very well and I believe we have the ability to upset some really tough teams."

In addition to Mortality eSports' two Call of Duty teams, Daniel 'ChuDat' Rodriguez will be pulling point as our lone entrant in Super Smash Bros. Melee. While Mortality eSports' acquisition of ChuDat is fairly recent, Chu is no stranger to MLG Anaheim Championship events and has particpated and placed in every Super Smash Bros. Melee event that MLG has ever held. In addition to focusing his efforts on reclaiming his spot as a Super Smash Bros. contender,  ChuDat has been selected to represent Mortality as part of the East Coast MLG Crew Battle Team.

When asked about his preparedness for MLG Anaheim, Daniel 'ChuDat' Rodriguez had this to say:

"I am very excited to compete again in an MLG event. Im definitely at a disadvantage to my peers in that I have not competed in as many MLG pro-point earning events this year so will be competing in the open bracket. On the other hand, it puts all the players I am worried about in the final bracket and out of my way for the climb through the open bracket. Similar to SKTAR, I am most excited to see my fans and supporters and represent Mortality well."

All in all, we're very excited to be competing at this event and look forward to representing our fans, Team Razer, Gamefly, and Gunnar well.
